Martin Aitken has translated a score of books into English and Danish, including Janne Teller’s Nothing (Simon & Schuster/Atheneum and Strident Publishing) which received both a Printz Honor and a Batchelder Honor, the most prestigious awards for young adult fiction in the US. In 2012 he was awarded the American-Scandinavian Foundation’s Nadia Christensen Translation Prize. His translation of Pia Juul's The Murder of Halland was longlisted for The Independent Foreign Fiction Prize 2012 and for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award 2014.He has also translated three crime thrillers by Nordic noir phenomenon Jussi Adler-Olsen for Penguin (Dutton in the US).
